This is the story of a rabbit who is a bit sick of eating carrots and fancies something else... what will he end up eating??
The pictures are very clear and the book is short enough so you can read the whole story to a class in one go. On second reading the children can join in with the question: "Que manges-tu?" and the answer "je mange" whilst the teacher finishes off the sentences. On third reading they can repeat "des mouches? Pouah!".

I feel the story teaches about appreciating what you have and not being too greedy! Lapin learns it the hard way… but it is a fun way for us!

Depending on your focus and the age of the pupils, you could work on a simple task like matching the animals up with what they eat and/or get the children to think of other animals the rabbit could have met on the way and what they eat; they could use dictionaries to write about them.

Topics or themes:
Animals, food chain / who eats what (science), food

simple questions, introduction to -er verb manger, negative phrase ne… plus…
