Approaches:
What I love about this book (and I will look for more like it by Nathan, premieres lectures) is that you can read it at 2 levels: you can read the speech bubbles only if you want to keep it simple with little ones or you can read the whole text with older children maybe. Another option is to read the text and get the children to act out what is in the speech bubbles!
Rationale:
The children will love joining in with the story, especially this line: "Toi, tu es un petit chat et tu rentres chez toi!". There are quite a few onomatopoeia too which they will have great fun with.
The book and the story are so versatile you will think of other options I am sure! If you've read any of my other book blogs... you will guess that this story has an amusing twist at the end as well of course!!
Outcomes:
You can use this book to show children that they can understand a story even when it is all in French; you could, after reading it, look at typical/not so typical/popular etc French first names.
Topics or themes:
It can be read when looking at names (mon nom est), the grammar points below… or just for (a lot of) fun!
