Approaches:
This is the story of the day Loup gets abducted by aliens and taken to their planet so he can cheer up their king.
With older children, you can read the whole story whilst giving them some challenges, eg spot the planets mentioned, keep a tally of how many times the word "planète" is used. With younger children, you can use some of the pages only to discuss the solar system, use the inside cover, the pages relating to it, pick out some cognates to do with space - see presentation on the website for more specific ideas.

Rationale:
I want to use it because the topic of space is a very widely taught one and this story helps put what the children have learnt into context, thus making it relevant. It is also a fun story to share with the pupils, especially if they are already aware of Loup's adventures.

Outcomes:
The children can either learn new vocabulary relating to space, in context and in full sentences, or this story will help reinforce knowledge which they already have.
It can be used as a basis for writing on their opinions of selected space-related items, eg quelle est ta planète préférée?.
