Approaches:
I use it as an advanced listening task with GCSE classes. The students have a copy of the text with all the references to time blanked out. They listen once to pick out any of the words, and then we identify the theme. They listen again to fill in more of the gaps.
Rationale:
I like to use music as it brings cultural background into the classroom. Students invariably have opinions about this band. Some of them know the band.
Outcomes:
They get reinforcement of time word and phrases, and it’s good for their listening skills.
Topics or themes:
I tend to use it towards the end of the GCSE course, when we are revising and are working mostly on listening and reading skills.
