Approaches:
A reading of the poem highlights social and cultural issues of interest
Linguistically it is useful in providing a writing frame and examples of the Future tense .
Students can observe the pattern of the Future and identify the verbs they recognise (or look them up).
They can later write a new (longer?) version of the poem with their own aspirations , incorporating other verbs in the future tense.
