You need a few lessons to make the most out of this book as it is not easy but it is so much fun! If you want to develop your relationship with a more challenging class... this is the book for you! Of course do share it with children you get on well with in the first place to!

I really want to read this book with children and laugh along with them as we share the story of a granddad who tells his granddaughter the tale of Little Red Riding Hood… well his own version anyway!

Your pupils/children will love this story so much they will want to write their own version too: change the animals, the colours, the ending… Even your reluctant writers will be engaged in this activity!

Topics or themes:
The text could fit into a topic of traditional tales and parody or more traditionally could help you introduce or reinforce colours, family members, animals, numbers and directions.

The imperative in French, how to form questions.

After sharing the story, I can play the part of the granddad and the class the part of the granddaughter before we swap roles. When the children are familiar with the story, they can easily act it out themselves in pairs or bigger groups.

How much time required:
half a term
